Measure bags the right way

Accurate measurements give accurate roll lengths and bag weights. Follow these short tutorials before entering values into the calculator for the best results.

Measure in the flat, unfolded bag

  1. 1Lay the bag flat on a table before any measurement.
  2. 2Width = the shorter side across the bag face.
  3. 3Height = the long side from top seam to bottom seam.
  4. 4Gusset = the side depth, measured across the folded side panel.

Always include the gusset

  1. 1The gusset is the side panel that gives the bag its 3D body.
  2. 2Measure it flat, not folded shut, for an accurate roll length.
  3. 3If your bag has no side depth, enter 0 as the gusset.

Match GSM to the bag grade

  1. 1Lightweight fashion totes run 40–60 GSM.
  2. 2Standard reusable bags run 60–90 GSM.
  3. 3Grocery W-Cut bags run 90–120 GSM for durability.
  4. 4Use the Materials Guide to confirm the right grade before sizing.

Add wastage for realistic yield

  1. 1Production loses fabric to cutting, seams, and rejects.
  2. 2Enter 5–8% for standard runs, 8–12% for tight custom runs.
  3. 3Bag Sizer adds wastage on top of bags/kg so your per-kg yield is honest.
